Breeding/Whelping Product Recommendations

Below i'll list products/supplies that I use during my females pregnancies, whelping and post pregnancy. 
I have pictured everything below the list for those of you that may not be familiar with these products -
again these are what I use, have been successful with and would recommend personally. 


PRE-PREGNANCY (for breeding female):
Breeders Edge - In Between for Her
Breeder's Edge In Between for Her fills the nutritional gaps that may exist in the diet of female cats and dogs. This multivitamin for dogs and cats supplies her with B vitamins to maintain a healthy reproductive system, calcium for bone health, biotin for healthy skin and coat, and iron as a blood builder. DURING PREGNANCY (for breeding female):
Breeders Edge - Oxy Mate
Breeder's Edge Oxy Mate Prenatal is a proprietary blend of vitamins, minerals, and selected herbs that are formulated for the specific nutritional needs of pregnant females and her developing embryos. This premium prenatal supplement provides elevated levels of iron, folic acid, and zinc that optimizes the production of red blood cells and blood flow. In addition, this supplement provides the essential nutrients for the development of healthy newborns. POST PREGNANCY (for breeding female):
Breeders Edge - Oxy Mama
This proprietary blend of vitamins, minerals and specific herbs is designed to meet the special needs of the lactating mom. Antioxidants help with reproductive tract recovery. The herbal ingredients stimulate milk production, help a female recover from birthing and align reproductive hormones to help get them ready for the next gestation. Begin approximately 3 days before birth.*** 
I give this product after puppies are born immediately as it contains calcium and I do not recommend giving any calcium prior to birth. This product can be purchased on the Revival Animal Health Website.

Breeders Edge - Oral Cal Plus
Breeder's Edge® Oral Cal Plus™ Gel is a calcium supplement for whelping dogs and queening cats. Oral Cal Plus gel provides 3 calcium sources to support strong and normal contractions. This calcium gel for dogs and cats contains vitamins D3 and B6 to support calcium absorption while MCTs and dextrose support mental alertness and energy levels. Calcium impacts dilation, contractions and her mood, making Oral Cal Plus Gel a must-have for every whelping kit.  
I recommend this product for after birth as I do not give calcium prior to pups being delivered.
 Low calcium can cause a mountain of issues for your momma after birth so having this on hand is a necessity.

Heating Pad OR Heat Lamp (I do have both and utilize both)

Water Wipes or Non Scented Baby Wipes
Whelping Box 

FOR WEANING STAGE:
A high quality puppy food 
(see recipes section in links at top for mush recipe)
Very shallow dishes
(paper plates work well for food and glass for water during initial stage of learning to eat mush/drink water)
A kennel pan or rabbit tray for litter training if you wish to do so
Pine Pellets

I place pellets in the pan on top of a pee pad and place it in the corner of the puppies pen.
They tend to pick up using the pan quick rather than just peeing or pooping everywhere.
​I highly recommend litter training.

In regards to the whelping box, you can use many different varieties of these..
EZWhelp makes a great whelping box but it isnt necessary to have that.
You can be just as successful with a $10 plastic kids pool as you can with a whelping box.
